Nike is gearing up to start selling its products directly on Amazon once again after stepping away from the platform six years ago. The move comes as Nike seeks to regain market share in an increasingly competitive environment, reported Reuters.
In addition to rejoining Amazon, Nike is implementing pricing adjustments across its adult apparel and equipment ranges. Starting next week, select items will see price increases from $2 to $10. For example, products priced between $100 and $150 will cost an additional $5, while those above $150 could increase by up to $10. However, children's products and some popular items, like the $155 Air Force 1 shoes, will not see any price hikes.
The renewed focus on Amazon is part of Nike's broader strategy to expand its presence both online and through new retail outlets. This includes partnerships with major department stores such as Printemps. Meanwhile, Amazon is preparing for the transition by alerting third-party sellers that they will be restricted from listing certain Nike products starting July 19, as the direct partnership with Nike is re-established.
