Tesla has introduced significant lease price reductions for its popular electric models to boost 2025 sales. The company has decreased the monthly lease for the Model 3 Long Range RWD to $249, down from $299, and the AWD Cybertruck's lease to $749, down from $899. This strategic move aims to attract more customers amid intensifying competition in the electric vehicle (EV) market, as reported by Forbes.
In addition to the lease reductions, Tesla has enhanced its referral program. The company increased the referral discount for Model 3 purchases from $1,000 to $2,500, another strategy to draw buyers. Nearly half of new EV transactions are through leases, which benefit from a $7,500 federal EV tax credit. This incentive is only applicable to leases, providing Tesla an advantage in capturing more of this growing market segment.
Tesla continues to expand globally, selecting showroom sites in New Delhi and Mumbai to enter the Indian market. While Tesla's innovative strategies may help counter potential challenges, such as the possibility of being excluded from California's new EV tax credits, these actions underscore its commitment to strengthening its presence in the EV industry. According to Reuters, such strategic expansions and adjustments are pivotal as Tesla navigates a highly competitive landscape.
